Project ActivAid
The mental health roadshow held in Ngee Ann Polytechnic was our pilot event to validate our services and operations as a social enterprise.
8 organisations that supported mental health awareness in Singapore were invited down to have a booth to share more about mental health with the students.

What We Did
For our involvement, we worked closely alongside our client for the planning and conceptualizing of the event in order to ensure that it would turn out the way our client envisioned. Additionally, we executed the roadshow and anchored the flow of the programmes happening where we utilize our past experiences in events management.
Having gone through the experience of planning a service learning project in our module of Project Management, it gave us the foundation we needed to cover all the points within our event. Knowing the importance of time management, we used Google Calendar and Gantt Charts to keep us on track with key activities, meetings and deadlines.

Challenges
Active Communication
Serving as the team’s first event working together, teamwork and communication was crucial in determining the success of it. This was a challenge that we needed to overcome as we had worked under the assumption that everyone was on the same page.
This led to us neglecting to update each other, which worked against us when situation arises. Another challenge was how we needed to stretch ourselves with running the roadshow due to our team size. We had to juggle the responsibility of crowd pulling while at the same time, fulfilling our own individual roles. Thus, initiative was very important as we needed to be able to cover each other in order to overcome this challenge.
What Didn't Work
Low engagement levels
We did not pursue a lot of event marketing and there was generally lack of interaction between us and attendees. This is due to us being too fixated on the confirmation of venue and taking the attendance rate for granted. It is important for us to be adaptable and not stop at one roadblock, but rather look for ways to work around it.
